Meet Gerrard

Gerrard Finlayson is a personal trainer, sports therapist, and wellness consultant with over 20 years of professional experience and more than 35,000 hours of direct client work.


Since qualifying in 2003, his work has evolved beyond traditional personal training into a long-term, outcome-driven approach to health, performance, and longevity — grounded in real-world application rather than trends or theory.


Gerrard works with a private, international client base and advises on wellness and longevity strategy within luxury hospitality and business environments. Across both, the principle remains the same: get the fundamentals right, then personalise intelligently.



Approach & Philosophy


Gerrard’s work is defined by clarity, structure, and consistency.


Rather than chasing optimisation or short-term interventions, his focus is on:

  • Supporting long-term health and performance

Strength training, when performed properly and through full ranges of motion, is treated not just as fitness — but as mobility, injury resilience, and longevity training. Nutrition is approached with the same mindset: simple, evidence-based principles applied in a way that fits the individual, not the other way around.

Where appropriate, Gerrard integrates data to support decision-making — not to overwhelm it.

Wearables, habit tracking, and performance markers are used selectively to:

All client work is coordinated through GF Fitness’ private coaching platform, ensuring training, nutrition, habits, and communication remain structured and centralised.
